XML Sitemap Validation

What is this check?

Your XML sitemap has to be formatted in a specific way to be processed correctly, we use the Sitemap.org spec for our validator to ensure that search engines get the latest updates about new (and removed) pages.

Why is this important?

The XML Sitemap is an easy way to tell Search Engines 'here is what is new and important about my website', if it is invalid then you may find pages not indexed as quickly.

Advanced Usage

Whilst there are no configuration options for this check, we handle large sitemaps pretty well (and if you have a sitemap index, we will download and combine all the sitemaps into one).
